It's Lucia day today

This is how we celebrate it at the dollhouse Faunius.

Cousin Emily climbes up to the roof terrace. It's her turn to play the maiden Lucia and she is thrilled to put on the white dress and the crown. She will bring a candle with her and light up the room before everybody has coffee and treats.

The tree is beautiful this year.

There are many many peppermint sticks there...

There are flowers and decorations on the table too. Oh, and the candy box!

Emily thinks whether to take a peppermint stick from the tree or one of the chocolates from the box. Will grandmother notice?

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU ALL!

Hehee, Mary, I thought so too. At her granny's place I think she can have as many sweets as she wishes. Merry Christmas Mary!

Thank you Nicola! I love the toadstools too. They are made by my friend, very talented Susanna. The pattern is so great. This roof terrace is going to have glass walls in the future and the granny doll, Miinu is going to have her more tender plants and the nursery for the vegetable patch there. For some reason she also keeps toadstools there... might be a bit of a witchy streak in Miinu.

thank you hanna for this - for sharing the lucia tradition and the origin of your treasures. I love the toadstools too as well as the wooden trees & gnomes. Your style is so comfy and emily is so fraglie yet girly in her beautiful dress. <3

Thank you JJ and Pubdoll!
The material for Emily's dress was a pleasure to work with, it is so thin. I made the dress the easy way. No seams on the shoulders, just one piece of fabric with a round hole in the center for the head and a slit from it to the back to make it possible to dress. The only seams are from wrists to hem on the sides of the fabric following the silhouette in a loose way. I glued the collar to make it really neat (cannot sew that tiny...) and sew the hem and the lace there. There's a glassbead on the back and a yarnloop to match and I just gathered it on the waist with a loose ribbon.
