It’s nearing Christmas and Santa is busy like everyone else!

But at this time of year, after working day and night in his office, Santa also knows the value of taking time out to relax. What better way than with a good book?

Make Easy Bookends

by Christine Verstraete

http://cverstraete.com

Materials:

Acrylic paint, paintbrushes, razor blade, ruler, scissors, tacky glue

1/16” to 1/8” wood; picture framing mat board

Matte acrylic fixative spray

Semi-gloss varnish

Instructions:

Cut wood or mat board pieces in squares, 3/8”  wide and 3/8” high.

Glue pieces together, gluing back piece to top of base with tacky glue.

Paint desired color and once dry, glue on small shaped beads, stacked beads or other items for decoration.

Books:

Free book and magazine cover printies are at my website – http://cverstraete.com (click miniature and see printies section on page for PDF links.)

You can also search the web for Christmas or holiday images to make seasonal books.

Print covers on gloss photo paper or plain paper. Spray printies printed on plain paper with acrylic matte fixative, then top with several coats of semi-gloss varnish, if desired.

Cut out and crease over edge of razor blade. Fit covers over pieces of 1/16” thick wood or mat board for inside “pages.” Cut to fit and paint edges white. Glue inside books.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thanks Christine. Could not pin this page as the photos have some setting that prevents that. Just for let you know I did not skip pinning you on purpose. :)
