Tips/Hints

  • For some fast and easy candles take regular birthday candles and cut them down to size. You can stick them in a bead in a pinch.
  • Larger/wider ones make great scented candles.
  • Put a few in different sizes on a tray, pretty them up adding beads and tiny flowers around them.
  • For Christmas candles just add tiny berries, greenery and a bow.
  • Candles can be decorated for any occasion or holiday depending on the colors and decor used.
  • For wall candle holders use the back of clip-on earrings and add a candle to it.
  • For realistic 'burnt' candles, take thin long birthday candles & cut to about 1 inch in length & place in the appropriate candleholder. Using your fingernails, pull off enough wax at the top to expose a tiny bit of the wick. Dab on a bit of black paint to look as if the candle has been burnt. Using the same color of Gallery Glass paint as the candle, start at the top & drip the Gallery glass down the length of the candle. Let dry and repeat if desired. If the Gallery Glass drips right over the candleholder, the effect is truly realistic. Use clear Gallery Glass for white candles.

  • Look for some pretty buttons with 2 holes.  Insert a short bugle bead into each hole to make a nice looking candle holder (the holes may have to be enlarged some).  Glue the beads in place and let dry on wax paper.  Paint gold or silver if desired.  Add "candles".  You can also add mini holly leaves to decorate around the bottom for Christmas or some flowers for other occasions.

Chris is trying to add an advert for her new book, but the picture is far too large. It has to be thumbnail size, so we are in the process of showing her how to do so.
