Mixed Scales Cupcake Emporium - by Fern Rouleau. "This is the Cupcake Emporium – a 1/4 scale kit which was by Ruth Stewart. I added it to the 1:12 scale kit Cupcake Emporium. The cupcakes, all made of clay, for the 1:12scale were about 1/4 of an inch each and the cupcakes for the 1/4 scale scene were about 1/16 of an inch each. Fun fun fun to frost.:

Easy cupcake molds - the electric caps in the hardware store, Home Depot, Menards, etc.! The end caps you put over wires . They are orange (very large) yellow, grey, and blue, you can get a whole package. Also look at the caps on tubes of waterproof bathroom caulk.
First go to your nearest hardware store and ask to buy some of their smallest "marrettes". These are what hold electrical wires together. Next roll out a piece of scrap clay to the thickest setting of your pasta machine. and press the bottom of your marrettes into the clay. Now bake. Congratulations! You've just made your first mold!!
When you make your cupcakes, take just a bit more clay than you need to fill your mold. Roll your clay into a teardrop shape & insert the narrow end into your mold hollow, pushing gently to ensure that you have no gaps. You can decide how large to have your cupcake/muffin tops. If you have problems removing from the mold dampen the mold by painting the mold hollow with water or talc.
If you decide to make cupcake papers, take appropriately colored tissue paper, punch out a circle shape and again using your cupcake mold, form the paper. Of course for this, you need to make a "pestle": again take your tear shaped clay (larger amt than you'd use for a cupcake) insert into the original mold and bake.
