Dollhouse - by Anna Mari
Research/ Inspiration
- This unusual scale is the land of "Hetty" dolls, though it also fits Vogue Ginnys and 8" Mme. Alexander children, if they're treated as sturdy adults. 1:8 was more common in the 1970s, when it was the approximate scale of Dinah Myte, Steve Scout, the Sunshine Family, and Jody. Adults are 8" to 9" tall.
- All of these dolls can ride "live steam" trains. There are patterns for Hetty furniture. Jody and the Sunshine Family had their own furniture and accessories. For Ginny- and Muffy-type dolls, there were many playsets made in the 1950s and 1960s; manufacturers include T. Cohn, Cape Cod Toymakers, Strombecker, Cass Toys, and Watko.
