Research/ Inspiration

Tips/Hints

  • Take a toothpick and roll half of it in Tacky glue and then roll in poppy seeds, or sesame seeds, or mustard seeds and place on waxed paper to dry. When dry paint with acrylic paint and use as accents for mini flower arrangement.
  • Take a 3 inch piece of 30 gauge wire and coil 2 inches around toothpick, wooden squarer, or for wider coil use drinking straw, with finger run Tacky glue around coiled wire and then sprinkle with poppy seeds or sessamy seeds and allow to dry on waxed paper. When dry paint with acrylic paint and use as accents for mini flower arrangements. Spray with sealer.
  • Purchase green dried baby’s breath and very gently remove the flowers, use as greenery for the back of a trellis and then glue tiny roses or flowers on it.  Also these bare stems can be used in a flower arrangement as a base for a flower that has multiple buds. Spray with sealer.
  • Dried white baby’s breath works well as filler in mini Colonial flower arrangements.
  • Dried Queen Anne's Lace is also a good filler, and blossoms can be coloured. Put the cut stems in water with a few drops of food coloring and in a few days, they turn that color.
  • A small twig  from the back yard that has many different branches that can be sprayed with acrylic sealer and used as a small tree, or if small enough can be used as a flower that has multiple buds.
  • Create a small corsage, place it inside a clear pill dome (some pills come in punch out packaging), and displayon your florist wall.
