Tips/Hints
- Use foil to drape quilts or tablecloths by gluing the fabric to the foil or inside the quilt.
- Try whip-stitching a length of fabric coated wire along the edges of the quilt and bend it into the required shape.
- Worn Flanellette makes a nice batting.
- Remember to make the patchwork area larger that the actual quilt to allow for extras, like pillow shams and trimming.
- Paper can look like fabric. Find a printie, spread glue evenly on the back of the print, and place glue side up on a large piece of plastic wrap. ( A stiff piece of plastic like a credit card spreads glue thinly and evenly) Place a slightly larger piece of paper towel on top of the glues area, smoothing from the centre outward. Place another piece of plastic wrap , making a sandwich - plastic wrap, prinite, paper towel, plastic wrap. Crumple into a ball, squeeze, and straightesintil the paper becomes soft and fabric-like.
