We may have got a lot of Christmas miniatures from swaps and we might be tempted to show them all year around so making a shop selling Christmas stuff is a perfect option.

Christmas Shop - by Sue from Plymouth, UK. "It's not meant to be historically accurate, just to give the impression of an old fashioned type of shop that was common in the 60's when I was young. Both my grandmothers would take me to shop in this kind of grocery shop. Part of the reason that it took me so long was that I was completely stuck on the deli counter display but eventually I managed to get it to look as I had envisaged."

Tips/Hints
What to sell in a Christmas store?
- Snowmen
- Christmas stuff
- Miniature sleds
- Decorative skis
- Little snow covered trees
- Miniature snow covered villages and houses
- Train scenes
- Dolls in fur trimmed coats.
- Miniature mittens and hats
- Ornamental snowflakes hanging from the ceiling
- Chickadees and robins, basically anything related to winter could be used if you decide to expand on the snowmen content.
- Snowmen can easily be the primary focus of the merchandise but it will be interesting to have some variety as well and help create more overall atmosphere e for the project. It is also more realistic as most gift shops try to have a variety of related items to increase sales.
- Don't forget to have a few top hats, big black buttons, artificial carrots, lumps of coal and scarves - basically a build a traditional snowman kit for customers to purchase. Those could all be displayed as a group on a table or rack with the appropriate signs.
- Every gift shop has racks of cards, as there is a lot of profit to be made on fast sales of this type of lower priced item. Also snowman shaped soaps, candles and white chocolate snowman candies. Those items are also huge sellers you would find in a snowman themed gift shop.

What do you think: do Christmas market stalls belong under shops or do they need an own page?
