Miniature baby house projects for dollhouses, roomboxes and dioramas

Baby houses - a term used to describe ornate cabinets of furniture used to house miniature rooms. These RL items were assembled by wealthy European women and reflect their lifestyle.

In miniature, a 1:12 scale cabinet would contain 1:144 furniture and appointments.

Huge Baby House - completed by Fern Rouleau, from a kit by Cynthia Howe. Unlike most baby houses which are about six inches high and have rooms furnished in 144 scale, this one was 17 inches high and all the rooms were quarter scale. Every piece of furniture was built piece by piece and it looks so beautiful in person. I wish you could all see it. It is totally electrified with a light in every room.
