Tips/Hints

  • To make a balloon, use plastic grapes. Painted with glass stain they appear very realistic. Pull them off of their stems, push your covered wire in the holes, cover the grapes with balloon material, tie it with string.
  • You can also use a water balloon as they are smaller than the normal balloons. Put e.g. a bead inside to get the right shape.
  • Use tiny polystyrene balls, wrap and tie either pieces of balloon around them or material. Then glue florists wire into the ball.
  • Make balloons by using the plastic cake top decoration balloons, then shave off the seam lines with a razor and take out the wire. Take a real balloon cut it into the proper size and pull it very tightly over top of the plastic on. Pull it so it is transparent. Then wrap the ends at the bottom with a piece of very thin paper wrapped florist wire.
