Miniature Book Scenes

The two miniature scenes were made in Punch Studio's Keepsake Book Boxes.  The larger book held Christmas cards, and was a perfect size for a 1:48th Christmas scene.   The Second book is also from Punch Studio, and were nesting boxes.  It is not a Christmas scene, however it was made it for a Christmas gift exchange.

A Christmas Book

The Christmas book opens to reveal three floors: kitchen, living room, and bedroom. The wallpaper for the Christmas scene came from several free projects by Paula Isaacs. The 1:48th scale furniture is a mixture of BPF, Jean Day's miniature kits, and my own handmade pieces.  The accessories are printies, gathered from several different free sites. The Christmas Tree is a bottle brush tree, with no hole beads, and jewelry pieces for ornaments.  This projected was gifted to my sister.

The Hummingbird Book

The Hummingbird book came from the smallest of three Punch Studio Keepsake nesting boxes.  It made a perfect 144th scale scene.  The book opens to reveal three floors, parlor, kitchen/diningroom, and bedroom.  All of the furniture came from Virtual Dollhouse.  I choose a variety of metal furniture, making sure it was small enough to fit on each floor.  I painted each piece, and varnished them with Ceramcoat matte varnish.  I found wallpaper from my "wallpaper stash."  The windows and door are printies made into 3D versions, which gives the illusion of an actual window, a technique I learned at my miniature club.  I also added vases of flowers, using lycopodium, and tiny colored foam pieces.  There are lots of accessories made from printies, beads, and jewelry findings. This was a very tedious undertaking, but was pleased with the outcome. This project was given as a gift for our miniature club's Christmas exchange.

I would love to do a page for the 14th of December, however since I have never done this before, I am not sure where to find the page I am to complete. I have two Christmas books I would like to include. One is 1:48 scale and the other one is 144th scale. They Punch Studio Christmas Card Books. I have added floors to the books, and furnished with a Christmas Theme. Here is a link to the 1:48 book. http://www.normanscountrycreek.com/achristmasbook.html

Love your tiny scenes! I haven't taken the plunge for making a tiny scene yet but I hope to someday. I love the Christmas theme with the tree. You are an inspiration! Thanks for sharing.
