Aquariums- using a TicTac container, and a plastic box Judy Lawton created these aquariums. Little fish (which are photocopies shrunk down from some stickers) and some clear hole less beads (to look like air bubbles)  are glued on to just regular old acrylic from a package of  paintbrushes, any plastic from packages would work cut to size to fit the clear plastic box.  The Square one is placed on the diagonal), the tic tac box just up parallel to the back of the box.  Other embellishments are small plastic  greenery from RL Aquarium plants and scenic sand over air dried clay.

Tips/Hints

  • To make a fish tank, use 2 same size pieces of basswood for the top and bottom. Cut 8 strips of wood about 3" high (depends on how high you want the tank to be). Glue 2 pieces together (in an L shape) for the corners. Cut 4 more strips of wood for the top piece of the tank and glue them to the bottom of the top to create a box lid). Take hard plastic packaging used for bakery products and glue 3 sides of "glass". To fill the tank, use small pieces of clay, insert a a length of clear plastic price tag barb and attach mini fish and plants. Use sand to cover the floor of the tank and to hide the clay stands. Position the fish and plants so the plastic barbs are hidden.
  • containers that Reutter Porzellan sets come in are a perfect size for a fish tank
  • TicTac boxes make great fish tanks when they are cut down
  • use wire and netting to make fishing net
  • use beads, a small dowel rod, ribbon, glue, very thin wire, and very thin thread to make fishing pole. Use a snap fastener or wheel from lighter for the reel.
  • Find flat backed small fish charms, glue them on small round, oval, or square pieces of wood for fishing plaques.
  • Use the metal eraser tip or a pencil to make a can of worms.
  • doctors brand interdental toothpicks can be  cut to make a knife with a handle. Paint or color the handle part black or brown with permanent marker or
any sort of paint, sand the "blade" smooth and paint it silver.Throw the other end in your garbage as "fish bones"!
  •  most 1 inch scale rods are about 6 3/4 to 7 inches long so just a little taller than a 6 foot tall man
