Research/ Inspiration
Tips/Hints
- To make a square picture frame, cut the two pieces on the top and bottom the same length. Then cut the two side pieces the same size. Use a squaring jig or Legos assembled to form a "corner". Slide the top piece of the frame up against one side of the square, then glue a side piece to the top piece with the side piece against the other square side. Then put the other side in place, and finally the bottom piece. If the first two pieces are square, the final two pieces should fit into place without any problems. Use wood glue and a dot of super glue. Stain or paint the frame pieces before gluing to prevent having spots that stain won't cover.
- Consider constructing twig frames for fairy houses and rustic scenes. Painted with a metallic like silver, they look more sophisticated...
- Use molds to create textured frames, or press a random design into the clay so it will look carved
