Marottesud

Hello, I'm Marottesud and I live in south of France. I always loved tiny, small things but I started to enter in the miniature world with perfumes samplers I collected when I was a child. I discovered dollhouses when I was 20 during a stay in USA.  Back in France, dollhouses miniatures weren't easy to find at this time so I began to craft mine and bought some books to help me. Then went Internet and the worldwide stuff in my house, my miniature collection increased with the easy shopping and all those wonderful projects sites I found. As I'm a great reader too, I choose to make miniature books that you can see on Flickr. They help me to create home decor in my little collection.

Callsmall

I loved miniatures when I was small, and this fascination and curiosity was reignited when my husband bought me a Villa Sibi for Christmas 2008. I began my blog in January 2009 and my eyes have been opened to a whole new (old) hobby that brings me a lot of joy. I started a wiki in August -- it is a resource for Re-ment items in 1:12 and will hopefully help people find pieces that work in different settings. Modernist miniatures are of great interest to me (especially vintage German items), and I am restoring a modern-style doll house. I do my hobby whenever I can and it has been great connecting with talented people all over the world. I have also connected with my daughter through my hobby, which adds to the fun!!

madelva fernandez

I am so lucky to have dedicated my last 16 years to miniatures. I have 24 dollhouses but none of them is half decorated yet. I like to consider myself as a miniature artisan, though my job is searching about miniatures and show them in real size.

Katysclutter, Sindy Collector - England

Hello, I've recently started to re-collect my childhood toys! It all started when I moved to my first house and cleared my parents loft. I came across my old dolls house made by Oakleaf and very much like Lundby. All the furniture was Lundby or Barton and had stood the test of time, unfortunately the house was beyond repair. I began my bitter sweet affair with Ebay soon after, which continues!!! Having nearly completed my Lundby house and purchased all the things that were on my childhood wish list I remembered my other favorite toy. So began the same process with Sindy! I absolutely love her and all she stood for, as a child of the 70's, you could get no better! I collect mainly the era I remember most, but have been know to stray....I've recently began to re-root, change limbs and repaint and repair some of my less cared for dolls, giving them a new lease of life. I also have a mild flirtation with Pailtoy Pippa and Vintage FisherPrice. I adore junk shops, auctions and carboot sales and can't walk pass a charity shop, you never know whats lurking inside.  Happy Collecting :)

Beatrice THIERUS, Les Miniatures de Béatrice

Hello, my name is Béatrice. I live in France near Fontainebleau , 75km Paris. I started my dollhouse hobby in 2000 . I realised 4 projects. First a kit, after a dutch dollhouse, a dollhouse for bears and now a great castle since 2005. I create also dolls and miniature accessories links. All about miniatures is a real passion. My websites: Allée des maisons de poupées et les Miniatures de Béatrice.

Mary Ciccolella - dont make a scene

I have lived in New Jersey US all my life and my husband bought me a dollhouse about 25 years ago. I still have it, unfinished in my basement, but since then have collected or made things for a Christmas House, Haunted House, Gazebo, office room box, etc. My photos are posted on flickr and I am in love. Would like to spend more time doing miniatures, actually would like to spend all my time doing miniatures! Trying to create items I have not seen done before and working on fossils in 1:12 scale, which is the scale I work in.

Helene a.k.a.  Pubdoll

Hello, my name is Helene. I live in Skien in Telemark in the southern part of Norway. I have been interested in miniatures for as long as I can remember and got my first Lundby doll's house when I was seven. I still have one extension floor from I was a child and a lot of the furniture. For many years I did nothing with my dollhouse, but after I got a friend with the same interest and at the same time fond a used Lundby Stockholmhouse at a fleamarket I took up this hobby again. Two years ago I discovered ebay and the blog world, and from then on the time and money spent on this hobby has just escalated. Since then I bought 3 new Lundby extensions, a modern Stockholm house and built both extensions and a  facade in lego. My nickname is pubdoll, because one of the first things I did after discovering ebay was making my long wanted pub. Most of the interior in it are made by me, but all the bottles are bought. Pubdolls is also the name of my blog and my Flickr page. One of the things I have fun with now, that I never did when I was a child, is to use dolls to make stories. Now I have about 20 dolls and all of them have their own personalities and background histories. Many of their names my family have come up with, and that's another reason this hobby has escalated, because now I have children in the right age to share my interest. And my daughter has also her own dolls and two houses, one of them the old one from my childhood.

Minna Lepänaho-Hatara

I am Minna, a married mom of two children. I live in Kouvola in the South-Eastern Finland.I got interested in dollhouses in summer 2004, when I found the Jim's Dollhouse Pages on the Net. I found a lot of nice printables there and I wanted to try them. I first made a small cardboard house and I printed some furniture for it. Then I made a small dollhouse in a bookcase. I bought some stuff for it and I also started to learn how to make minis myself. And after that, I wanted a real dollhouse. I made the plans for my first house and my husband helped me to build it. At the moment I have seven dollhouses: the house of the Riikonen family, the Riikonen's sauna/guest house, Lyydia's shop, Erlenhof, Moomin house and two Lundbys. I like to try different kinds of techniques with making minis, but my passion is crocheting miniatures. Welcome to visit my blog Minna's Doll World!

Hanna Meronen (Hannajaleijona, Hanna & Leijona)

Hi! I live in Hämeenlinna Finland close to a medieval castle and a beautiful lake. I've loved miniatures as long as I can remember, but it's been a hobby (obsession one might say) and filled my freetime since 2006. I really like to make things myself, trying everything, but I've made my houses using wooden structure and papier-mache and I sell mainly felted pets and toys for dollhouse dolls. I collect too many things, am building a small library of dollhouse-related books and appreciate many styles of miniatures. I work mainly approximately 12th scale, but am not a perfectionist in scale and accuracy. Welcome to my blog, Hanna & Leijona and if you want to see photos, here is my Flickr-page with things I've made and Pixbox-page with things I've got as gifts and trades and what I've bought and found.

Maija and Aino Salo

We are a mother and a grown-up daughter from Finland. We started to make miniatures in 2006, when we found many interesting and skillful blogs on Christmas holiday and were hooked at once. Aino had got some dollhouse furniture from her grandpa when she was a child, and that was a good start when we started to plan a miniature-grandma's house from the 1950's. The original project is still under construction, but there has also come some new projects besides it. Welcome to our blog, Miniasiat mielessä, to see what's up right now.

Tiina a.k.a. Millimari

I am also a Finnish mini enthusiast. All my life I have been attracted to all things miniature but it wasn't until 2003 that I got really involved in this hobby. My doll's houses and roomboxes mainly feature modern interiors, modern meaning to me anything and everything from the 1920s onwards. I'm especially fond of the Art Deco style, and one of my plans is to decorate a doll's house in that style.

When taking on a new project, first I write a story depicting who is living there and what has happened to my character. After this I will start designing the interior. In fact, most of the inhabitants in my doll's houses and roomboxes are "related" to one another.

In addition to buying ready-made miniatures, I enjoy making them myself, also from trash; I'm very curious and want to try a-new-to-me technique at least once.

To me the best about this hobby is the versatility - you can use many different skills to accomplish what you want and there's no right or wrong way to do your miniatures. Welcome to Millimari's blog.

Johanna Janhonen (a.k.a. JJ)

I come from Finland  and I started my dollhouse hobby in 2000 (few years earlier I started collecting bears, I don't know if there is a connection between these hobbies) and after that it has been my major hobby. Since the beginning I used Internet to find other people who are addicted to dollhouses and still it is one of the nicest things. My dollhouses and projects are mainly modern (the oldest being a dollhouse from 1970's) since I find it exciting to think how to make every day items in miniature. At the moment I don't have that much time for the hobby since my kids are quite small but I'm not in a hurry anyway - I plan to continue this hobby for the rest of my life. Links to my dollhouse pages are listed in my Mini treasures blog.

Thanks Millimari-Tiina for introduction :). You are already famous for your trash miniatures - you have got very good ideas and I hope you can share them also in this wiki :). And I'm asking you to be the godmother for the Art Deco page - just add some of your favorite links there as a starters so that it will be easier for others to contribute after that.

Thanks Helene for introduction :). I also used to have a Lundby when I was kid and now I have one waiting to be furnished. When I started this hobby I also made doll stories but now I lack of time but some day I´ll continue. Having background stories for the dolls is fun, I agree with you :). I just created links to new pages about Norway, Stockholm house and pub, it would be nice if you added some links to them.

Thanks Mary for introduction :). You have a long hobby history behind! It would be nice if you added links to your projects (Christmas House, Haunted House, Gazebo, office room box) to the specified pages as well as your favorite links - so far the links are mainly added by me so there is a lot of Finnish links because I know them best. And I agree with you: this is very fascinating hobby and I could spend all my time doing this ;). You said you are working on fossils - sounds really interesting, let´s create a page for them too! :)

Hi Béatrice and thanks for introducing yourself :). So we started this hobby at the same time and we have other things in common too: I like bears too. I hope you add links to your projects (dutch dollhouse, a dollhouse for bears, a great castle) to the wiki pages too. And maybe you could add the best French miniature sites as well since I might not be aware of them. Great to have you here :).
